S.P. Muddhanumegowda was born and spent his childhood in Sobaganahalli, a small village in the backwaters of Kunigal lake in Tumkur district, and later grew up in the villages of Mysore for his education.
SPM, the scion of a large farming family, was a gifted student from childhood who later became a successful lawyer as a law graduate and served as a judge at a young age. Later, he entered politics and became a MLA and MP, but he never left his relationship with the soil. Due to his love for agriculture, he is still living in the farm house of Tumkur Taluk Hebbur, and through new experiments in agriculture, he has become an ideal farmer and a role model for the youth.

However, in 2014, although there was a pro-opposition wave all over the country, it is not an exaggeration to say that S.P. Muddhanumegowda’s mark by winning the Lok Sabha election from Tumkur constituency with a huge majority and becoming the opposition MP of the 16th Lok Sabha has changed the direction of politics in Tumkur district.
